Spring Term Topic: Africa

The children have been working really hard on their topic in all areas of the curriculum. So far we have compared African landscapes, African school life and we have been comparing them to our own way of life. In music they have been learning traditional African songs, such as Shosholoza and also how to play the Djembe drums! The classroom display is looking spectacular and they have worked exceptionally hard on producing work of a high standard.

I am impressed so far with the homework that has been submitted-so keep up the good work!

During the final week of this half term, we will be making African musical instruments. I would be extremely grateful if the children could bring in materials to help us make them. Please save any card, packaging, plastic etc. Basically anything you think we could use, and send it in!
